What glitters is gold... Introducing Jewels Avenue

I have falling madly in love!
Very rare for me..
From day one I knew the creations this beautiful woman was imagining together we could create.
Jewels Avenue Photography blows me away everytime. We share the common bond for art, laughter and good times!!
I feel like everyone who comes and leaves footprints in our hearts are always there for a reason. Sometimes reasons we, as people may never understand until later dates. I know Mrs. Julie is in my life to brighten it and inspire me. Our future together looks bright, I recently conducted a sweet interview with Jewels Avenue Photography.
Enjoy and fall in love like I did...it's do easy!!! Enjoy:)

What a wonderful name. What made you decide to start your photography business?

Thank you!

It was scary deciding to open my studio and doing photography full time, but I'm so glad I chose to run (not walk) down this path. I owe all of my thanks to three dads, two Bruces, and a coin toss.

Bruce #1 is my father, who's last wish for me before he passed in 2009 was to pursue photography. Hearing the seriousness in his voice and seeing the burning assurance in his eyes when he said, " Now Frenchy, (there's a funny story to that nickname, call me and I'll tell you about it) you have to promise me something. You have to promise me you will pursue this. You've got too much talent not too. " is something I will never forget. After that I made sure I set small goals each year to get myself where I am today.

Bruce #2 is my best friend's father ( coincidence on the name? I think not…) He presented me with an opportunity last October (opening the studio in a shared space) that was the answer I had been searching for. Even though I knew in my heart it was what I wanted, what I was meant to do, my head was unsure. It's scary depending solely on the unknown, and I had just received a well paid, secure job offer. It was not, however, in the photography field. So there was my predicament - do I pursue my brightly colored dream, or settle for the secure, yet mediocre?

Now enter the coin toss. I couldn't make up my mind. I deliberated for a long time, spoke with family, made up my mind, changed my mind, made it up again, and changed it again. My Dad, Clarence, (technically my step-dad, but he's so much more than that; step-dad does not even begin to describe what this man means to me) after listening to me talk myself into and out of the studio all day pulled me aside and said, "You know what you want, but to make sure, do you want to toss for it?" He pulled out a huge coin, I called it in the air, and haven't looked back since. It's been a tough road, but it's been brightly lit and can say I love going to work each day. I'm very grateful for everyone that has helped and supported me!

where do you call home?
Wherever my family is :) We are currently living in bustling Belton, TX.

What inspires you when you're behind the lens?
Laughter, music, and a very special make-up artist ( wink-wink)

What do you have to offer the Belton Community?
Along with amazing portraits, I create for each client an experience that they wont find with chain stores. I welcome clients into my studio as if they were family, and probably treat them better (hehe). My sessions are full of laughter and goofiness and in turn I get rewarded with not only amazing repeat clients, but new friendships. I value everyone I work with and make sure they know it!
I also offer basic camera classes for ages 7 and up, and an advanced lighting class for experienced photographers at my studio.

What do you specialize in?
Being Awesome. Duh.
Oh, and Family, Senior, and Wedding portraits ;)

Ive seen your publications in 35 Central? How did it feel when you saw your first issue?
Are you kidding? I'm still jumping around like a fool! It was a moment of *finally. I'm getting there* (Isn't that magazine awesome?)

Who is your favorite photographer/artist?
My tastes change throughout the years, but Brooke Shaden has been my object of affection for a while now. She creates surreal moments that tug at your emotions and wonder. They're what dreams are made from, or vice versa.

What inspires you most?
Real people. Music. History. Laughter. My kids.

When you're behind the lens what exactly do you look for to capture the best photograph?
It's all about the light. And the emotion. Emotion through color, pose, facial expression, etc... but with out the proper light, you've got nothing.

Out of all your photos in your portfolio which is your ultimate fav? Why?
That's like asking me which one of my kids is my favorite. Shame on you.

Can you give us a preview of what we have to look forward to from you in the future?
As I grow, so will my work. So check back with me in a few months and we'll see what has changed!
Right now I'm working on vamping up my Senior Rep program, which will include some serious perks for participators, and brining in more Boudoir/stylized sessions. I am giddy when a client tells me she felt like the most beautiful person in the world after a session with me and my style team (wink wink Miss B.A.D.) Being able to provide that for someone is elating!
