THERE SHE IS!!!

The "Best OF You" Workshop certainly was a BLAST! Jade Landis from E'lan Salon and Julie Nabours of Jewels Avenue Photography and myself all gathered ready to rock the world.
It was fun to start the night off...but of course first we had to have a drink. Well at least I DID...(smh)
Soon everyone started showing and the party was on. To do the demonstrations Jade and I turned Julie into a beautiful two face..(as she called herself)
I love when I apply my magic!! Watching people turn into little vixens makes me job all worth while.
To start out Ms. Jade began class explaining how to create volume and beautiful luscious beach waves.
As, I stepped to do my fabulous lesson. I believe I played peek-a-boo!!
(first you cover your eyes)
(PEEKABOO)
I'm unsure...Julie looks intrigued though. My demonstration was a deep seductive smoky eye.
We were lucky enough to touch all of the clients present. Jade showed some amazing braid techniques. Everyone knows Pinterest is all about creative ways to wear braid headbands and such.
I believe the night was very successful. I had a friend whom I have not seen since 9th grade in Alaska attend. It was so amazing to have someone from my past come and support. Look forward to the professional photos we took with Jewels Avenue. I'm sure they will be so classic. Keep a close eye out for http://blog.jewelsavenuephoto.com/ she will be posting pictures. Plus, her work is completely worth watching.
As we end...I BID you all A-DU (meaning til we meet again)
I CANT BEHAVE when a camera pops out!!
Love, B.A.D XOXO

Tantalizing Twins..

I recently realized I had posted a sneak peek into Jewels Avenue's Twin shoot.
I totally feel in love with a couch and that started everything! My mind wandered and a masterpiece was created. Both of these ladies were rather shy until Jewels, Jade and myself set the atmosphere. If you have not worked with us, you must!!
Hope you enjoy the photos :)
Goooood times!!!

What a wonderful name. What made you decide to start your photography business?

Thank you!

It was scary deciding to open my studio and doing photography full time, but I'm so glad I chose to run (not walk) down this path. I owe all of my thanks to three dads, two Bruces, and a coin toss.

Bruce #1 is my father, who's last wish for me before he passed in 2009 was to pursue photography. Hearing the seriousness in his voice and seeing the burning assurance in his eyes when he said, " Now Frenchy, (there's a funny story to that nickname, call me and I'll tell you about it) you have to promise me something. You have to promise me you will pursue this. You've got too much talent not too. " is something I will never forget. After that I made sure I set small goals each year to get myself where I am today.

Bruce #2 is my best friend's father ( coincidence on the name? I think not…) He presented me with an opportunity last October (opening the studio in a shared space) that was the answer I had been searching for. Even though I knew in my heart it was what I wanted, what I was meant to do, my head was unsure. It's scary depending solely on the unknown, and I had just received a well paid, secure job offer. It was not, however, in the photography field. So there was my predicament - do I pursue my brightly colored dream, or settle for the secure, yet mediocre?

Now enter the coin toss. I couldn't make up my mind. I deliberated for a long time, spoke with family, made up my mind, changed my mind, made it up again, and changed it again. My Dad, Clarence, (technically my step-dad, but he's so much more than that; step-dad does not even begin to describe what this man means to me) after listening to me talk myself into and out of the studio all day pulled me aside and said, "You know what you want, but to make sure, do you want to toss for it?" He pulled out a huge coin, I called it in the air, and haven't looked back since. It's been a tough road, but it's been brightly lit and can say I love going to work each day. I'm very grateful for everyone that has helped and supported me!

where do you call home?
Wherever my family is :) We are currently living in bustling Belton, TX.

What inspires you when you're behind the lens?
Laughter, music, and a very special make-up artist ( wink-wink)

What do you have to offer the Belton Community?
Along with amazing portraits, I create for each client an experience that they wont find with chain stores. I welcome clients into my studio as if they were family, and probably treat them better (hehe). My sessions are full of laughter and goofiness and in turn I get rewarded with not only amazing repeat clients, but new friendships. I value everyone I work with and make sure they know it!
I also offer basic camera classes for ages 7 and up, and an advanced lighting class for experienced photographers at my studio.

What do you specialize in?
Being Awesome. Duh.
Oh, and Family, Senior, and Wedding portraits ;)

Ive seen your publications in 35 Central? How did it feel when you saw your first issue?
Are you kidding? I'm still jumping around like a fool! It was a moment of *finally. I'm getting there* (Isn't that magazine awesome?)

Who is your favorite photographer/artist?
My tastes change throughout the years, but Brooke Shaden has been my object of affection for a while now. She creates surreal moments that tug at your emotions and wonder. They're what dreams are made from, or vice versa.

What inspires you most?
Real people. Music. History. Laughter. My kids.

When you're behind the lens what exactly do you look for to capture the best photograph?
It's all about the light. And the emotion. Emotion through color, pose, facial expression, etc... but with out the proper light, you've got nothing.

Out of all your photos in your portfolio which is your ultimate fav? Why?
That's like asking me which one of my kids is my favorite. Shame on you.

Can you give us a preview of what we have to look forward to from you in the future?
As I grow, so will my work. So check back with me in a few months and we'll see what has changed!
Right now I'm working on vamping up my Senior Rep program, which will include some serious perks for participators, and brining in more Boudoir/stylized sessions. I am giddy when a client tells me she felt like the most beautiful person in the world after a session with me and my style team (wink wink Miss B.A.D.) Being able to provide that for someone is elating!

Amazed..Stay Tuned

This photo is like a dream come true! About a month ago I ran across the sweetest lady ever who is the owner of a very unique shop. My Giving Tree is on the corner of First and East Street in downtown Belton with such a interesting name I had to see what was settling behind the windows.
Inside I saw so many different art pieces and antiques. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw it, pure inspiration. This amazing couch, my mind stirred and I knew I had to contact the most talented people I knew to make my vision come true.
The concept was Circus inspired, Siamese Pin up Twins, a sexy sideshow maybe?
This story gets only better...
Here's your teaser... So much more to come.
Enjoy:)
